This year we’re teaming up with AYA@USC and the Kevin Cordasco Foundation: Something Yellow to grow Team Concern and have our most successful marathon year yet.

The Adolescent and Young Adult Cancer Program at USC is an integrated, multidisciplinary partnership between USC Norris Cancer Center and Children’s Hospital Los Angeles that provides treatment and care uniquely designed for patients ages 15-39.

The Kevin Cordasco Foundation: Something Yellow is committed to raising awareness and funds to support childhood cancers and was inspired by Kevin Cordasco, a courageous young man who battled neuroblastoma for seven years before he passed away at the age of 16.

Money raised by Team Concern will be directed toward cancer immunology research, a critical area of study that holds the key to conquering cancer. A portion of funds will also benefit the Adolescent and Young Adult Cancer Program at USC (AYA@USC).

WHY RUN WITH TEAM CONCERN?

The numbers are staggering. Cancer is now the world’s leading cause of mortalitytaking over 8 million lives annually, and that number continues to rise.

In 2016, nearly 596,000 people will die of cancer in the United States, and by 2030 it will surpass heart disease as the #1 cause of death in the U.S. With nearly 15 million Americans with a history of cancer today, and a projected 1.7 million new cancer cases diagnosed this year alone, it’s safe to say that everyone is affected by cancer.

Concern Foundation combats this epidemic by funding innovative cancer research worldwide. Through the promotion of active and healthy lifestyles and participation in endurance races and athletic events, Team Concern was formed to raise funds and awareness to support our mission to Conquer Cancer Now. In seven years, Team Concern has raised more than $890,000 that has gone directly to cancer research and treatment programs in Los Angeles and around the world.

Join Team Concern today, and together we will be one step closer to our goal of conquering cancer!
